What questions do you have there are a few of us on here that that do it. Worn Out on here is probably the most seasoned at it.

I've talked to worn out some, im mostly just lost. I can get a decent used truck for like 10k down here granted the fact itd be a 80s or 90s model then i can turn around and lease on with one of the peanut haulers here using there authority. I've priced getting your own authority and good god

What did they tell you on getting your own?

Reason I ask is I leased on to my Dad even after he passed. We lost mom in 2013 and I had to get my own. I done it all myself and wouldn't mind sharing info

Well if i was to get my own authority it'd open me up to brokers, farmers, or even the established companies getting a better rate. Problem is insurance, mc number, tags, plates and all the other crap is high. Compared to just buying the truck and then leasing on with a company using their crap until i saved the money and built up contacts
