It is still May, wait till July/August. All the rain has made it worse this year. When the sun pops out after a rain shower it is tough.

Two funny things happened to me today on the way to deliver this load.

    1) Last night the agent with my follow up load calls, this is a direct shipper, loads cancelled.
Well isn't that F special since I already have a REALLY good one booked after that with agent I do a lot with.
So, like 800 something miles of no man's land now.
So, find another load, direct shipper, couple hundred less but same neighborhood, extra 50 mile DH to pick up. Wow! Got lucky there.
Dude calls this morning, load cancelled.
    Well F me to tears.
Stop at rest area. Rifle through load board. Lot's of good loads, none going where I need to in the time frame I need.
I'm scrolling through my contacts about to ask to get taken off the good load......phone rings.
It's the second agent. Has another load. End up being an extra 100 mile DH at the other end. Ok great.

Now when it all started I could have been just another POS in this freight puzzle like the first agent and cancelled, putting hardship on the other agent, and making it easy on myself, probably getting a good load right where I am. This what separates players from POS, IMHO.

    2) Someone calls from Landstar and asks how do I like Landstar ( I'm about a year in ), and how can they make Landstar better.

    What timing☺.

I says I like it all pretty well, but there are a couple of things.
    "Like what sir?"
I says you need to put some of the agents in a wood chipper.
    Silence.
"Sir, that would be wrong. You can't put people in wood chippers."
I says but they aren't people, they're insects.
    Silence.
    "Is there anything else?"
I says yes these Landstar inspections. Something has to give there.
"Yes. Those are on our radar screen."
I tell her about my last one, and the clown that didn't even change my oil during a PM that was one of their approved guys. Told her about the letters of aplogies, the refund check, complaint filed at the BBB, and how someone at Landstar said all that would go up the food chain. Did it? Who knows? Management is like Oz.

So she says " That's how you're supposed to deal with that through the proper channels. "

I says, no, the rent a center didn't have any wood chippers that day.

I was to wound up at that point and forgot all about mentioning how totally useless customer service is.

She thanked me and end the call with a gratuitous "Be safe."

One tried to end a call with that corporate b.s. line. So I politely inquired if that meant I should: cancel my planned loads, turn in my CDL, and stay home?

Do you share your apple with your kitty while being loaded?

Today is kind of a day of rest. I mean I started at midnight, got to receiver at 0550 ( 0700 appointment ), they took me early, back out the gate at 0710, 2 hour DH to this TA nearer my pick up, I'm out of hours, got here like 0900.

    So I scored this.

    10 pieces for $10.

    Cats are REALLY happy.

    It's original recipe.

There's like 3 pieces left, one's a breast. Cats are so full there is uneaten chicken and cat treats laying here.
