Howdy Irish, welcome. I'm curious what experiences you have had in driving Europe. Are the drivers there as rude as they are here? Spent a couple months biking the North and South.... thought I'd get killed by the tourist busses. They've got to have nerves of steel?! Beautiful country and terrific folks, can't wait to visit again.

hi-ya wayne driving in europe is probably the same as driving anywhere else you meet good & bad everywhere. the main thing would probably be at home we drive on the left & when we get to europe we switch to the right (makes overtaking other trucks harder cause you cant see around them until your right out on the other side of the road ) italy is probably the hardest to drive in they have no paitence always blowing horns & flashing lights. france is the most boaring long straight roads with nothing happening & nothing to see. germany is rough too the traffic is unbelievable & for alot of the time your not allowed to overtake. suppose my favrouite place would be denmark/sweeden/norway its alot more relaxed the people are very friendly & always very helpful if you need directions or anything they speak perfect english too

Hi Irish and Lil Blue, I'm trying this again. Sent a post yesterday and it make it into the thread? Travelled Eire for two months, north and south, on my bicycle! Had a wonderful time, with a million new friends. Our "people" are from the north and we still have relatives there... though very distant. Can't wait to get back!
Lil Blue Pony and Knife Edge Thank this. -

Hang in there, Irish. The world economy will come around. We just have to hold on long enough. Then that shouldn't be a problem given our long- suffering heritage?! I am 2nd generation Irish, here in the States. Our people came from the North... Inishowan or Inishowen peninsula I believe. We descend from the MacLochlains. I found the Brits presence in the North very unusual for a Democratic society. It's like seeing armed military at air ports! Maybe that's too political a theme here on the Forum. But it really made an impression on me during my time there. Good luck.
