Hate fast food myself. Petro and T/A aren't great but still have a sense of what food should be. Love the older stops with good restaurants.

 

I never had trouble with brakes when I had manual slacks, plus while you were under there you looked at other stuff.

 

Had truck warmed up and ready to walk out the door this morning and received a text dump was closing at 9am. So guess I'll play in the shop today.

 

Guess you could call it a craving. I don't get to haul cows, LS won't allow it. So if you ever see me doing it then it musta been someone else's truck you saw or I got my own numbers.

I was just moving that trailer into the shop to replace a leaky airbag. It belongs to a friend. He can't decide if he wants to keep it or sell it. CA legal at only 43' with a deep kingpin. I think it's an '05 Wilson.

Somewhere I have a pic of the old truck with that trailer. I should look for it.

 

There seems to be so many different auto slacks on the market today, so many junk ones, out of all of them I only like 2 kinds.

1. Meritor with the 5/16 square adjuster bolt with the spring loaded stops you pull out manually.

2. Bendix with the 9/16 hex adjuster bolt (like the old manual slacks, but no collar). They have a smooth clutch mechanism and are easier to adjust in my opinion and you are not likely to round the 9/16 adjuster head off like you can on a abused gunite or haldex slack with the small 7/16 adjuster.

Plus, those dam clutches have a ratching mechanism that I think sucks. Just my opinion

 

I do like the Merritor the best. I have s little tool that holds that dog out, they’re easy to adjust.

 

I've always slipped a skinny flatblade behind it to hold it out, then ours use an 8mm open end to adjust it. Our others vary from 7/16 to 9/16 and a few metric.

Yesterday you could fit a pinky finger between the shoe and hub, and there was a ton of end play on the s cam tube. Still had a good bit of shoe left, just turned it til it met then backed it off just enough, and tried not to hit them until I got the green light on the prepass.

I only see the weather channel Sunday mornings 8am-8:10am, I do believe that's what they were calling it at that point. Glad it fizzled out.
