That story just makes me hate the EPA more. And makes me like old obsolete diesel powerplants more.

I'm just curious how many trucks have to run all of this EPA crap to compensate for the pollution generated when the EPA crap causes a truck to burn up. Trucks seem more inclined to go up in flames following a crash these days, not to mention one little cracked line or fitting from the daily vibrations and you get fuel sprayed onto a hot DPF instead of into it for the regen...

I'd like to know how much better mileage they get after being fixed. I'd like to know if EPA is aware that farmers are putting a touch of sulfur in their fertilizer mix because there's not enough in the air/ground.

    jamespmack and Oldironfan Thank this.

That’s a rare case man. Too many trucks involved and with that bussiness you have enemies. It’s very very very very rare that anyone would get nabbed. If someone dimes you out, the feds won’t follow up unless you have multiple vehicles where they can get a good case with a big law suit.An owner operator with one truck isn’t
    Gonna have any trouble

My neighbor works for them. She told me about some new pickups sitting at the yard that were tied up in legal matters. This explains it. We actual inquired about buying some.

I’d like to know the fuel mileage gain too.
I’ve always heard the newer engines get better mileage than the older ones, for the most part.
But I do love clean air too.

To hell with clean air. Give me reliable and low maintenance machinery.
