    This thread moves fast....

    Anyway,

One of the things that killed being a mechanic for a profession for me was the fact that we don't actually repair anything anymore. It's all about just remove and replace parts changing without actually fixing anything. Every time I saw these "maintenance free" items, such as slack adjusters w/o zerk fittings, all I could think to myself was "what a pile of bovine scatology". Just another part destined to fail and be replaced down the road. It's cheap, and who wants to repair anything?

Sad thing is, I got a job at a shop where I thought I would get away from the "R&R" mentality. A classic car/hotrod repair shop where the owners swore during my interview that "We're not a R&R shop". What a load of crap. Just about the only thing there that wasn't the same as anywhere else was some of the fabrication and rust repair work. I'll definitely give them credit for that. I learned how do do some #### fine sheet metal welding and finish work. Other than that, it was just "replace it, don't spend the time repairing it". Didn't help that one of the owners (the wife) was absolutely bat-crap crazy.

I'm back to being a happy hobby mechanic who actually takes the times to fix things instead of just throwing stuff away.

Had a tail this run. Buddy drove a 2013? ISX powered KW with a 18spd. Exact same load "mill roll". Last big hill from a stop I walked off and left him 1/2 way up, think it needs the computer adjusted.....

No not at all actually lol. I wouldn't have known if he hadn't told me on the CB, I was just doing my thing not paying attention to what he was doing. Couldn't see him anyway with that conestoga.

IMG_2855.JPG We had a conversation about trailers a few days or so ago. About the construction of the axle mounting, this thing popped and cracked when in the slightest turn. And it's new! Not sure I care for that setup... o_O

If it was previously owned by my company, I would say the popping and creaking was from not being greased:D

Substitute “race car” for “large car” in this clip and this is how I felt first time I ever got to drive an extended hood. First time I saw this in the theater I started getting a little emotional because I was like “yeah, man I get it”. Happy Thursday my truckin friends:thumbup:
