Finally found a dealer that had an idea of what I wanted. $1971 plus tax and freight with a 3-4 week lead time to be shipped. Now to decide if I'm keeping the trailer before I order it.

Interesting comments; wrenching over the years and driving about the same I've had the honor to use Jost, Holland, and Fontaine 5th wheels. My preference (personal) is the Fontaine; with the wedge and step jaw design I've never had a problem with lock-up or slack.

Regarding the release being pulled, come on; as a professional driver it's our responsibility to check our equipment before operating. And if; a release is pulled intentionally or unintentionally it is "not" a failure of the 5th wheel manufacturer. Get off the throne; take two minutes, check that the release lever is in, no gap between 5th wheel top surface and trailer nose plate, and lastly get your butt under there and visually verify the lock/wedge is fully secured.

Safe travels, let's stay professional out there, and may you all make it home safely!
