    Heck we would have less regulations if we were pilots... And Oh file a route plan??? LOL It seems most drivers don't preplan a trip as is, and now you want what route I'm going to drive? Dang it now I have to look at the weather, road construction and traffic problems. What do you want from me... Soon enuff you want to put speed limiters on my truck, limit what roads I can use, where I can sleep, and Oh don't forget you can't spend your break at the shipper or recivers. Be nice to all and take the crap we dish out to ya and smile like an idiot...We give you a ticket for being overweight 'cuz the guy on the dock loads to much and he's been doing this for 15 years and never had a problem before, your truck is too heavey mt... Brokers who don't want to pay.. truckstops that don't want a decent place to eat, let alone park, come in buy fuel and leave 'cuz we don''t want you here, showers that are still dirty from the last driver, or is that the last ten... Hummm just why do I drive this truck??? Oh 'cuz I like low pay, money is overrated, bad food, either too cold or too hot to sleep thru the night, never get to see the one's I love enuff and miss all the important things in their lives so I can be dumped on by some pencil neck, tie wearing suit in an office some where in DC....Oh 'cuz if I worked in a real job I would be fired in two days for telling my boss to FO. Can not stand to be inside a box with no windows... LMAO. Sorry got carried away, :biggrin_25511:

    Illegal? According to the latest revision of the H.O.S., probably.:biggrin_1square3:

    Unsafe? Doubtful.

    My method of getting the miles I need to make the mone I want Is simple;

    Drive when I'm not tired.:sleepy3:

    If that means I drive 5 hours in the morning, then take a 4 hour nap then drive another 6, yes, I'm over my 14 according to D.O.T. But is that really unsafe?

    And no I dont always log the way I drive, do you?? I doubt it.:biggrin_2551:

    When you're stuck in a traffic jam in Dallas for 2 hours do you log that driving, or, do you stop somewhere and draw a line in the off duty or sleeper row and keep on truckin for a couple hours over your 10 or 14 in order to make the miles up???:biggrin_2551:

    i hear ya on "loose leaf"..... make sure to take the prepass and ez pass outta your windshield and wrap em in foil, i know a guy that got pulled into the hillsborough NC scale (i-85/i-40 EB) because his prepass said that he had gone thru the WB scale 13hrs earlier and his daycab was based in charlotte, they went back 90days on his logs, needless to say, after he got fired from that job, he had to do time because he couldnt pay all the fines

    Yes I do Log it as I drive, have for over two years. We have a log dept. that checks our logs against the qualcom in the truck and they must match... They have fired people for falsifying their log book. They are very serious about it. If I'm stuck in traffic, Dallas, Atlanta, New York City or any other city I better be on line 3 driving... I don't like it, I try to avoid it but it happens, I just annotate in remarks section and go on. I stop at the end of my 11 driving or 14 hours. I ran from Denver to KC a couple of weeks ago, spent the night in Salina KS. It took me almost 5 hours to get to KC. Snow covered roads, and that's how it was logged. I like my job and get treated well here, so I choose to live by those rules. I could go some where else but hey I don't have problems with CMVIO's. I like it that way, and for some reason when they check logs at the scale they seem not to look to hard...

    I have pre-pass in my truck and it is the best $15 a month I spend. As far as it recording time is untrue. It will not record time between one scale to the next. If you don't believe me, call pre-pass and they will tell you the same, because that's what I did. I wanted to make sure.:biggrin_25525:

    The prepass may not record it...but if a state is recording the prepass and storing the info in a computer, that is another story altogether.

    The states are not allowed to record anything, per the contract they have to sign with pre-pass.
