Finally sitting at the customer in Hattiesburg. After a 2 1/2 hr wait at the wash and the line at my pick up location was alittle long, I didn’t make it very far yesterday. Welcome to trucking. Lol. My next preplan. I’m heading to Montezuma, GA for a round trip milk run. Might just stay on it till hometime next week.

I’ve had the wash place in Memphis do me that way before too. If they’re going to say they never got the priors, they probably shouldn’t leave them laying on the counter where we can stand right there and point at them. Lol.
I deliver on Monday morning, so I’ve got an easy weekend. I’m going to find an abandoned pull off somewhere in AZ, kick back and get some sun, maybe try to squeeze in a 34. I will have a good week, close to 2,700 miles by the time I empty and get to Tulare Monday evening.

Not a bad week. I’m doing these short runs to keep me close. I ended up picking up a loaded tank in GA and I’m now delivering it in Nashville. Purity. Only tank here. This is my old stomping grounds. Used to work for an LTL carrier about a mile from this plant.

I did a 34 at that Shell on the Phoenix by pass where I-8 and 85 intersect. Nice quiet place with a big desert lot about the size of a football field across the road and a Subway next door. I bought some sunblock and spent a few hours walking 3-4 miles and working out. Headed on in to CA now. I’m going to ask for something going back towards TX when I get this one delivered. Now that we live in an area (SA) that’s a high travel area for IRT I’m going to try and get by the house more often.

Nice. Definitely need the sun block in that part of the country. I’m stuck on the 3rd shift runs. I do enjoy driving at that time, just can be tough getting any sleep. Didn’t take real long this morning. Dead heading me back to GA to pick up a loaded tank for Blue Bell in Sylacauga, AL for the morning. What a name! Lol

Today is one of those days I hate to be a driver. I delivered yesterday and i met a driver in Cottondale, Fl and swapped tanks. Going to Ft. Pierce, FL. Tropicana. Was told they unload till 8pm. Got there at 4:45. They are done for the day. Come back tomorrow around 7am. Usually not a big deal, but I have hometime starting tomorrow. Was told it could be a long wait since they have sent away several trucks today. I have stuff scheduled tomorrow afternoon.

There is nothing like not taking hometime for 2 months and this happens. Not the company’s fault, but it get real frustrating. I was coming back Monday, but now it’s pushed back till Tuesday. Oh yeah, got inspected the first scale I saw this morning. Everything was good except the blue paint that’s on the license plate numbers, two of them were faded and he wrote it up. Just crazy

I would be frustrated too. Did dispatch give you any options if they don’t unload you tomorrow morning since you have home time scheduled? That’s ridiculous about the plate numbers.

    motocross25 Thanks this.

Said boat runs start tomorrow, so there are no local guys, so I’m stuck. Just aggravating. He spent almost an hour looking at my truck and tank and didn’t find anything, so he went with the plate. It’s all about safety though.

I got a random in TX last year. Gave me a warning for a log violation because I had done a 8-2 split. He swore up and down that “since I had left the state of Texas in the previous days I was required to take a consecutive 10 hour break”. Lol. I was like huh?? I didn’t argue with him. I called Florida and they said he must have been confusing the TX intrastate rules with Fed. They looked back at my logs and said I was never in violation and would try to get it fixed. I never heard anymore about it. The safety guy we had then is not here anymore though.

He said it doesn’t count against me. I just knew how he was taking his time, he’d come up with something. I’m at the Loves just down the road from Tropicana. Several tanks here. I’m going to set my alarm early and try and get in front. If they go by appointments, I’m screwed.
