I do flatbed OTR. I definitely do not miss rails one bit. I miss being home sometimes but for the most part im currently happy. I love doing flatbed. Don't think I will ever do any other type of trucking. You close to the breaking point with the rails? LOL. I couldn't stand how the people at the rails treat the drivers like second class citizens. Lots of ignorant drivers at the rails to. Sitting in Chicago traffic everyday gets old really quick.

Well, if you leave and try something else you could always go back to rails if you had to. All the rail companies are hiring everyday LOL

they tucked the free plate that was offered to people here 2 years + into the most recent rate increase. I run solo and am home every three days. my solo in Chicago is on a dedicated and gets home every five days. The solo i have based in orlando stays out for 8 days on 3 days off. My team likes to stay on the road they only come home monthly by their choice
