Something's off in this thread. I mean really? You haul oversize and such, which means you've probably got a couple years under your belt but you have no idea what truck to buy or if it should be an auto or manual?

This is his wife doing the posting.
Lol
He thinks an automatic might be easier for me was all.
I've heard that automatics break down more often and are expensive to repair vs a manual.
I was just wanting to gather all the information available to us and really appreciate your thoughts and thank you for your time. -
We have a little over $40,000 saved and can do minor repairs.
We know how to do oil changes and fuel filters as well as air lines and air tanks.
Not everything but a few things for sure.
I appreciate your time man.
Thank you -
That puts me a bit more at ease. Don't jump right in to make the same mistakes I did. And many others do. One more good idea to think on is building a truck garage to work on it. Especially if you are in it for the long haul, or live up north.

Oh well I think automatic will be fine but yeah they can be very expensive in the long run to fix or replace vs a manual. If you can drive a manual, I would personally stick with a manual. Just my opinion. I’m sure others will have more to say to help you with your decision. I don’t have much to sayOldironfan Thanks this.
