Just wanted to update you all on my starting with JCT on 1/19/09
I have had to postpone my start date until 4/6/09
The reason for this is my current employer would not accept my resignation and requested that I stay on with him until March of this year.
I would not have done this for any other employer. My boss man has been nothing but respectful and loyal to me as an employee. When the times were rough and freight was slow he even paid me an extra vacation week that I was not due.. I felt obligated to return the respect and loyalty and honor his request to stay on with him.
However I am still looking forward to starting with JCT in April.

    SheepDog Thanks this.

That's awesome, LandShark. Sounds like JCT will be getting a great team player.

Hey, you wouldn't want to be in Sapulpa right now anyway. I can't remember when it's been this cold. It's supposed to get down to 3 tonight, high of 20 tomorrow. :biggrin_2553:

Suncoast, you still going on the 26th. I got a call today wanting to know if I wanted to go on the 26th, I suppose they had an opening. I wish I could of said yes but given my present carrier one week notice just would not work. If I had gotten the call this past Wednesday I would of said yes in a heartbeat.

bigorangefan, I will not be there on the 26th, I had to get back to work and could not wait any longer, bills were starting to put be in a very bad position. I had called my recruiter a few times asking if I could get moved up but she dident have a seat for me. Then I got a call from HEYL Transport (another very good company) I applied for, they said they were putting two more drivers on and I was ready to go. thad was on on tuesday, I was in the truck on thursday and tonite I am here in Washington DC ready to get unloaded and get out of here before all hell breaks loose thid tuesday. My load from Orlando to DC paid me 428.00 and I needed it so bad that trying to wait any longer may have got be into bill trouble. Besides its not a good idea to get into a lease with no money to keep you going for awhile. My recruiter did say she would my application for awhile just in case things dont work out and I'm greatful for that but this company is very good and they dont hire vey often but it's good to have JCT as a back up plan just in case...

I hate to hear that suncoast but glad to see you got a job. I will be going to jct on the 16th and will post progress. Maybe I will get another call offering an earlier date, just need alittle more notice. My present carrier knows I'm leaving but I promised a 2 week notice so I couldn't bail on them like that.

They have us back on track. I guess freight slowed down a little at the first of the year. We ran from Irwindale,CA to Jamesburg, NJ. Dead head to MT Crawford VA Picked up a load to Jacksonville,FL Going to Bradenton,FL to Riverside,CA. Total about 6600 miles. I guess I can live on that:biggrin_255::biggrin_255:
