In the running: Hornbrook California on 5 close to the Oregon border. Not open all night. Crammed lot full of craters. Outside restroom serving as an insect zoo during the day. Portapottie at night. Blocked in when you try to leave.

San Antonio truck stop.
Showers are some maitinance closet with a shower head and everything is brown with dirt. Screwed up barricaded parking lot next to some abandoned motel with low incom residents and knocks on the he door after dark from people wanting money.
Less BS in ATL or HOU -
Oh it might not be Redding well it would be in that general vicinity though unless it closed down? Think it might actually be Corning well.SteveScott Thanks this.

When I mentioned the Pilot in B-ham, I was gonna bring up the TA, but it looks like they are trying to clean that area up now. The Kangaroo next door removed it's truck parking. I was woken up 6 times one morning....after sunrise, by lot lizards. It was ridiculous.coastietruckin' Thanks this.

I've always wondered about that place. Never had the opportunity to stop there. Glad I didn't now.
-
It's not even the lot lizards. That place is overrun with roaches.

Yeah, it must be Corning you're thinking of. That one is kind of crappy. I always stay at the casino just south of it. Best buffet I've ever had on the road, and half price prime rib every Tuesday and Thursday if you're over 50.

Pilot in Boron, CA. Parking isn't any worse than anywhere else, but the store is filthy and choked with tourists and other assorted 4-wheelers.
