I mean it ain’t my style at all boss but if you wanna lift it... you’re gonna lift it.Cattleman84, 1951 ford, wore out and 11 others Thank this. -
You wanna talk to the guy in charge or the guy who knows how to get the job done?!

That degree and $2 will get you a cup of coffee. Folks like that are the reason for the saying "I'd like to buy you for what your worth and sell you for what you think you're worth."sawmill, Cattleman84, 1951 ford and 11 others Thank this.

You know...
There ain't a single person in Tulsa that I can think of that rubs me the wrong way, about anything. I'll standby them for a long time -- I think everyone there from our lowest paid mechanic and trailer dog to the CEO himself really honestly cares for our drivers. Our terminal staff is great, through and through... it's the policies in place that will give you a run through the ringer though...
But like every mega... there's a disconnect between what happens there and what we put up with out on the road. Little policy things are either pushed too hard or downright stupid to begin with.
But those people there at Tulsa and Laredo got a tough job.. dealing with some of the guys we hire certainly takes a toll on ya
. Always hear these horror stories about how drivers are treated at other companies... can't say I've ever had that. Never been disrespected by someone in corporate. Their good folk.

Oh I get what you are saying. We have some good office personnel where I work. However, nothing education wise can ever give you an advantage in this line of work over experience, in my opinion.
Our accountant can run a P/L statement and get a somewhat accurate idea about the money, but me living this 5-6 days a week can give a much more in depth account of where you are losing or making money. Load plans put into a computer system? I re-route them every time since I know who unloads when, who holds me up, who has one forklift, etc.
Most college grads are good at putting the dispatch in, turning on fuel cards, approving add'l pay, etc. Problem solving out in the field, not so much. And I have a 4 year degree, LOL. -
Not a bad wheel wash there for a silly little fleet truck...
she just wants to think she’s somebody
I need to be done in two hours before the lady disowns me... I’m all packed up and waiting, she’s supposed to be home at 4:30 and we’re supposed to be gone by 5:30...
“Are you sure that’s enough time to gather all your clothes sweetly?”
