The problem is to many drivers and not enough trucks. Very few people quitting or moving on due to the economy and the fact that they do have a job. This is also, from what I understand, a slow time of the year for trucking. Loads and miles pick up again sometime around March.pinballwizard and billsgirl Thank this.

Hi there Jonnnywifey,
I hear you and your husband are hanging out with my husband (Doug)
I can't believe everyone is just sitting around, They've got to get em moving and hopefully soon. Boy you've got to feel like a rose between all those thorns. Ha Ha.
I am glad you get to be with your husband it sure has been a long time not seeing my husband. I miss him. It does sound like there's really a bunch of really nice guys there. I'm glad if you all have to sit around at least it's not a bunch of A--holes.
Tell Doug Hi and tell him I miss him, and good luck getting moving. I think it will happen so.
billsgirl and pinballwizard Thank this. -
Yes Doug is a really nice guy! I"ve played cards with him a few times, over at the Terminal. I hadn't seen my husband for over a month, i sure am glad to be with him. I'm sure you will get to see Doug soon
I'll tell Doug Hi for u!
Take care!

d'kota,
Is your husband going to be a solo driver, or is Trans Am making him become a lease operator?
I have applied to TA, and their recruiter told me just today that TA is only hiring lease operators at this time. -

My husband is going to be a solo company driver, yesterday they sent him on a recovery to Kentucky. He should be back in Olathe tonight unless they send him for a load or if he needs to unload the truck that was abandoned. From what I understand they have alot of company drivers sitting waiting for trucks and more coming in off the road that have been doing their 160 hrs of training. That's why I'm sure right now they are only hiring lease ops.
Best of luck to you.pinballwizard and billsgirl Thank this. -
My husband is also a company driver, i will be traveling with him. He got he's truck yesterday and so did about 6 other drivers, i'd say 5 company and 1 lease, got there trucks yesterday.
pinballwizard Thanks this. -
Jonnyswifey
I really glad you got your trucks. Best of luck to you. I hope when Doug gets back they don't make him wait again. They have sent Doug to Ky. Al. Tx. and when he gets his load dropped there I don't know where he'll go.
The start was rough, they didn't have a driver manager for him his comp-card wasn't turned on so he had to pay for his hotel the first night, But he's doing fine. He actually met up with my brother who's a trucker in Little Rock Ak. they had a quick breakfast and off he went. I don't know the company my brother runs for but their out of Spread Eagle Wi.
Keep us posted and enjoy the ride

Hey there Flash!
Recommendation on the nicotine thing..... Greased Lightning makes a product called Orange Blast or something like that. You can find it at Lowe's, WalMart, and a few others. I used to to work at an RV Dealership and we used it religiously. I was very impressed with it.
<places hand on hip> And it leaves a nice citrus-y smell too! hehehehehe
So how's things going as of now? -
Congrats on finally getting a truck and getting ready for the open road. Oh the sights you'll get to see and experience. For all the downsides to trucking, the sights can be very beautiful and especially night driving.
Wonder if your the one who let me bum a quarter for the dryer the other night.
