I'm on yalls team here. However I wasn't smart enough to teach my kids the difference in a Farm and a petting Zoo. So for the younger guys just starting out pay attention here need to know info has been given

WHY DO PEOPLE COMPLICATE THINGS? I HATE THE BMV!!!

Little background, my license expires in July and starting July second in the state of Ohio you will no longer recieve your license at the time they will mail it to you. I didn’t want to do that so I renewed early, my vehicle tags expire on my birthday also but I don’t want to renew them yet. So I got my background check and took my hazmat endorsement test a couple weeks ago. Today I went in there and dealt with their crap, here is how it went.

BMV lady; how can I help you.

Me; I want to renew my license.

Lady; ok do you have your birth certificate?

Me; no am I supposed to?

Lady; they are going to start requiring it.

Me; so do I need it?

Lady; well since you don’t have it we’ll overlook it.

Me; how is a person supposed to know to bring it if we have never had to before?

Lady; they’ll send out a letter.

Me; have they sent these letters out yet?

Lady; I don’t believe so.

Me (in my head); THEN WHY THE HELL WOULD I HAVE IT???

Lady; your cars tags expire in July would you like to renew them to?

Me; no thanks

Lady; do you still want to renew your license?

Me (in my head); WHY THE HELL AM I HERE???

Me (out loud); yes mam I do.

Lady; starting in July they will mail them to you, are you sure you don’t want to wait?

Me; no mam.

Lady; ok suit yourself

Me; I also want to make sure my hazmat is there and will be on my license.

Lady (with frustrated look) is there anything else you want to tell me?

Me (in my head); oh yeah plenty.

Me; no mam.

So she goes through the boiler plate stuff then makes me repose for my picture because she didn’t like it. All in all a terrible experience. But I got my license for 4 more years.

 

Well I put in my half day...

Got rid of my bakery and brought some kernels back up...sitting at home empty.

 

I can try to clear a few things up for you.....

The need for the birth certificate is for fraud prevention and real ID. You can thank George W for that. Your state is behind on this.

All states are going to the mail license. Fraud prevention and cost savings. Your state is also behind on this.

The info on what to bring should be on the state website.

She took your picture again because the first picture wasn't good enough for the facial recognition software that they use for fraud prevention.

Unfortunately the people working the counter don't get to make any of the decisions and if you don't have what they need you don't get a license or ID.

I don't like going either.

 

Well let’s back up a little more, my state doesn’t require a birth certificate yet and never have in the 25 years I’ve had my license so why would I go in the website to look? And why act like a jerk about it? She took my picture again because she thought I should smile, her words. I’ve known her for years she’s a btch. How is mailing my license cheaper or safer than handing it to me? And lastly I don’t care who makes the rules you don’t have to be rude when a guy tells you he doesn’t want to renew his tags. Defend the idiots at the BMV all you want.
