From a dealer or private party?

 

Why would the dealer put the truck in his name? Edit... did you not say pretty sure the dealer has to put the title in their name?

2 mistakes. .. 1) no title no cash .... 2) don't buy a truck from Georgia because of the tax ...... bought a truck in Ohio total tax from the state 0.00 ..... that seems fair to me lol

 

I would find it very strange if I bought a vehicle from a dealer and he handed me an endorsed title. You said my post was "full" of misinformation.

 

How many trucks have you bought?


Cause that's how they come. When you trade one that isn't paid for that's why you sign a one time power of attorney allowing the dealer to endorse the title in your absence when it arrives from the original lien holder.


Do you just sign whatever they put in front of you without reading it?

 

I pay cash for whatever I buy. I sold cars for several years. I believe I know how a dealer operates. We never gave a customer an endorsed title. If the customer happened to be from out of state like this guy we gave him a bill of sale since we weren't required to collect sales tax and register his vehicle.

I guess I didn't get my last title for about a month from paying cash for a truck from a dealer I thought he bought it privately there's a difference. ... bought a truck in Oklahoma that was titled in Mississippi and I titled it in Ohio ... didn't pay any tax to any state. ... been waiting for it to blow up for almost 3 years was abandoned and abused 2012 Cascadia 28000 cash 518000 miles. ..... batteries starter and some def loving lol ... under 2000 to get it home then put a clutch in and has been just fine (knock on wood ) since ... about 5000 total to get it back in shape. was a clean truck just a bad driver
