Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

RickG said: ↑Of course! Just when you think you have seen the dark side, in the trucking industry, there's always another. I thought that they would not hire him because of liability issues.TruckerMike said: ↑I guess you don't realize they have to hire drivers with no experience is because their pay and working conditions are unacceptable for the thousands of experienced drivers out of work . In fact the conditions are unacceptable for the inexperienced drivers the hire who soon leave which is why they are always hiring . But don't let me scare you off .
The people wasting money on drivers' schools could have fed their family for months and reduced a lot of debt with the money they blew to find themselves still out of work or being gone 2 -3 weeks at a time for a take home pay of $300 a week .Click to expand...
My man is worth so much more.
He said they were running full speed ahead and will stop only to poop and fuel.
They have a coffee maker, cooler but no micro yet so they are eating crap in a can and PB&J's.
Yesterday he said a friend in the company told him how to get a dedicated run that will pay $600 a week. They are going to shoot for that.Click to expand... -

Congrats on the upcoming wedding. Nothing is sweeter for a girl than to have her daddy walk her down the isle.danc694u said: ↑She is, in April. But she still comes by to visit or calls on a regular basis. Her wedding is taken care of, we just haven't told her that. And I'll be home for it

Moral of the story: Teach your kids about money. But never let your kids know exactly how much money you do or don't have. It can double the cost of the wedding
If this one doubled.

LadyBird said: ↑I hope that dedicated run isn't all they do all week . My dedicated run pays $600 plus any detention pay and it only takes 2 1/2 days . A couple of weeks ago I did 2 in one week . Usually I do that plus one overnight run that pays about $350 .RickG said: ↑Of course! Just when you think you have seen the dark side, in the trucking industry, there's always another. LadyBird said: ↑Good companies allow a reasonable time for loading or unloading , often 2 hours . Anything beyond that the shipper or receiver is charged hourly and the driver is paid hourly . Layovers are when you sit for an extended time . For some companies it's 24 hours . I once had a Sunday delivery and a product was out of spec . It was probably acceptable but there was no one there Sunday with the authority to accept it . I was paid a layover in that case to wait until Monday morning . Another time the receiver changed the delivery date from Tuesday to Wednesday but failed to notify the shipper or our dispatch . I arrived Tuesday and was paid hourly detention time until they unloaded me Wednesday .RickG said: ↑I don't know. Is detention pay the same thing as layover pay?Click to expand...Click to expand...
