Bravo to the pumpking hauler
The trucking industry is getting run over with everyone who was layed off and think that is the way to go. Lets get the truck drivers who need a job first! I think it is a good move.

great move...
thats the #1 problem we are having....
to many truck drivers and no freight...
we are all starving these days..
landstar has 10,000 drivers and 2500 loads a day avg.these days...thats 4 drivers to every load..the shippers are having a field day...i see many loads for 60 cents...no lie and they are being hauled
myself and many others may not survive this...the freight rate has been driven down to peanuts... -
I got another e-mail from Schnieder recruiting:
Our driver needs from your area have been fullfilled!
Guess I'll cry myself to sleep again tonight.
Maverick1pissedoffdriver Thanks this. -
If you have verifiable driving experience (can produce logs if requested) of more than 100,000 miles OTR experience that used to be the starting point for SNI to consider you an experienced hire.
If you have not driven OTR within the previous 6 months SNI normally considered you as an experienced hire (you did not have to go throught the WHOLE new driver training program) but you had to go through more of a check ride and possibly a week or two over the road with a driver trainer to polish your skills.
BUT.. this was before the changes in SNI's hiring process...
(from an OTR driver trainer)
What the process is now.. you would need to call. The real answers will possibly vary by region and how many applicants they are getting in the area of the country you live in. -
i dont understand,if they are experienced then why do they need training i dont understand what that means ,Sounds fishy to me

Does anybody then know of any good training companies? I have been local driver for about 15 months but want to get wife licensed so we can do team driving. What company or companies would be good for us to check out?

I may be way off base, but I think the training is to teach a driver the way things are done at that particular company, paperwork, fuel stops etc. I don't think it is to train you how to drive, they assume you already know how to do that.
The trainer will probably be observing you pretty close, and will report how you drive, to see if you have as much experience as you are claiming.

I'm starting with Schneider tomorrow in Charlotte. Going dedicated for JC Penny. I have been driving local for the last 5 years in NY. Recruiter told me as long as I have 48 months OTR in last 10 years I'm ok.
