Best option is going to be a staffing agency. No commitment, and technically I don't think your tenure ends when you take a couple months break. You'd just be an inactive employee until you're ready to resume working again.

The grain harvest from late May through to September would suit you fine, do you have green card , or work authority like a visa, many grain harvester contractors are looking for temporary workers and will pay for a H2A visa this means they also have to pay for you travel expenses from what ever country your coming from, which is why lots only hire from more regional border countries like Mexico and Canada.

Any of the larger carriers such as Schneider will allow you to work part year and remain eligible for rehire. You may have to agree to stay off of the group insurance program(s)
But a lot of options will depends on where you would be during your time in the USA. -
Craig's list is full of them. I had one delivering asphalt road seal. It was messy but it was a job.
