    Watermellon now that is good.....
I got into trucking about 40 years a go at 145 lbs hit 185 about 35 years ago,
and now I'm 190. Yes I put on weight, But most of that isn't fat.
I started when we had to lump our own trucks at every stop.
My best guess is watch what you eat....I never did, But my body burns it off quickly.. Not sure why..I guess it is how I'm made.....:biggrin_2558::biggrin_25523:

Sorry, very ture.:biggrin_25525: I will say this when you start training, with a trainer, then get your own truck remember to streach every morning, and then a couple of times a day while your driving especially on the longer hauls..

As a newbie (and never a marine) I agree. I stop about every two hours and walk around the truck. IF the evening is nice enough when I'm done driving, I walk about a mile. If it's REALLY nice, I'll walk more.

RULE # 1 in the trucking business to make money you have to have the drivers door closed and the wheels turning. When you stop you are not making any money. If you want to keep in shape you will have to do it during your 10 hours off duty....Don't stop during the day, it cost more then you think it does....:biggrin_25521:

I think it costs less than you think.. time on line 1 has no effect on line 3. So long as I have time in my 14, short 15 minute breaks every so often are just fine.

Agree when I stopped for a bathroom break or even a small bite to eat, I would stretch..

You will get plenty of excercise.Take this from a Retired Army Attack Hellicopter Gunship Pilot. After a few days of Slamming the receiver back onto the pay phone because your didpatcher keeps putting you on hold,Or you have to walk 1/2 mi from the trk to the doors of a trk stop, Lowering the landing gear on the wagon,,,the only way tou will get Fat & Lazy as a driver is to give up on life,, i myself laugh at those over Fat jelly belly drivers,,to me that is a sign of not just ignorance, but stupidity as well,,,Now i am sure to piss off a few with that one,,But hey it is what it is.

when your at a truck stop go for a jog around it. Do sit ups/push ups and lift dumbbells when you stop. eat healthy foods instead of burgers and fries.
