If it's from a dealer you should be able to get a Temp plate, from a private sale, ga law says you can do it with a bill of sale, only problem with that is, if there is Lean on it well you are responsible for the lean , if you love that truck, are you be going to jail

Yes, well, if you bought the truck from an individual and did not get a title you could be in trouble. Best case is the guy pats the lien and sends you one. I won't mention worst case. .

IF you are getting a irp TX tag you go to irp off and they wiil sell you a hunters irp tag thats good for a few days so you can get truck home, IRP off will fill you in on how to get TX irp tag and title fromTX>

You don't pay TVAT tax, it only happens when the vehicle is new and going to stay in the state.
ALSO Texas will not charge you sales or use tax either IF you are doing interstate transport over 60% of the time, they have a rolling stock exemption.

...i'm going to call texas DMV office tomorrow.... and see if they will accept the bill of sale as proof....
