With the tarping and surcharge included and the carrier paying for the tolls I'd say the 5.41 a mile on 230 mi isn't a bad gig just to tarp some easy decking. Easy 1245$ [IMG]

I wouldn't do it for that. Nor the smoke tarp. To me, it's not about the hassle or money but about the risk involved. An injury is a big deal.

What risk? You put the smoke tarp on the top bundle while your on the ground and the loader puts it up. I don't see the risk. In and out in a hour or less. The other place has lifts you can pull up to while your securing the load. Very rarely do we have to tarp steel. Your saying 5.41 a mile isn't worth it to you? Most of its throw 6-7 chains and bounce preloaded trailers no live loads

There’s not much risk involved anymore, at least not like it used to be. Most places your feet can’t leave the ground without being harnessed up, and that’s if you’re even allowed to leave the ground.

At this place you stay in the truck while they load. Let them do the 1st 2 tiers, belly strap it and get back in the truck til there done

    DSK333 Thanks this.

250 mi for 1500. You really wanna be baffled ill show you some dry van rates even higher than that. Our carrier has the highest rates in town not because he's greedy but because of his outstanding reputation

    DSK333 Thanks this.
