Okay, this is bad news. But will they take these people OUT of the smoking studies that reflect increased heart disease? Thereby reducing the skewed (and false) numbers of said research over the past 20 years? Probably not.

Those kinds of abnormalities are already accounted for since the sample/control population also includes them.
-
I'd like to believe that. But since the study wasn't released until 01/18/2009 I find it highly unlikely that allowed for 60 million additional people.

I didn't read that link you posted or understand why you are crossing it over to smoking studies, but I'm not sure why you'd find it difficult to believe smoking doesn't increase risk for all sorts of things.
Not only do we know that it does, we know exactly why it does. Mechanically it causes hypertension, rapid heart beat, constricts blood vessels, the heart works harder and under greater load, causes stress and damage to cardiac muscle. The chemical effects are more in depth and longer to explain.
BTW I'm a smoker.. it sucks. -
No no no..I didn't mean to imply that. I mean to imply the numbers are skewed, due to the fact they haven't included these numbers in the studies.
Sorry about the link, my bad.
India has a historically high death rate, related to smoking per studies. If you're genetically doomed to a heart condition. You shouldn't have your "bad luck" included in a study. That implies you would have NOT been as susceptible to heart disease, had you not smoked.
Now it's a matter of scientific fact, these people will develop heart disease. Whether they ever smoke, or are exposed to smoke.
