I get what you're saying. USX is okay, but there are some things I do not like, and I see how my income is negatively impacted based on how USX operates.

You can make a lot more money than that working for a better company. $550.00 is low pay.

This company is probably just standard for big companies now.

I worked a total of 2 months for them. My experience was the absolute worse.

Starting off I seen a add for dedicated dollar tree. Sign on bonus, $1250 wk, home weekly.

I signed up. Went through orientation. Here’s where the problem for me started.

At the time I started I already had 4 years of experience 1 year and s half on OTR and 2 and a half local flatbeding but still went to 6 different states. Staying the night in a truck came with a $60 price tag on local driving I don’t do it often at all and I’m not forced. Anyway they made go with a trainer for a couple weeks not to teach me how to do the job I was hired for but because I was considered a “local driver” . Well this was to screw me out of my Dollar tree dedicated without just getting to the point which was if I was local the job wasn’t a sure thing. They couldn’t just tell me that from the get go because I wouldn’t have bothered going the hassle of getting to Illinois on a grey hound. I had a to wait in Chicago terminal for awhile where every other person was trying to sell me drugs or wanted to give me a ride somewhere . I did this 3 times.

I get done with the trainer who basically spent the whole time trying to tell me how to drive instead of teaching me what I didn’t know 4 years clean driving record buddy ‍♂️.

Got back to a terminal in OH to find out and I quote “ o we don’t have that position available your going to have to go OTR for awhile because that position was only available to experienced drivers” I probably should have said screw this. I started immediately solo OTR.

I put in for time off immediately but I was just about to learn even more. I set off for the northeast coast. I stay there for almost 3 wks making $500 a wk . The only other problems I ran into was I ran out of hours at a place that didn’t allow overnight parking waiting to be unloaded. Poor planning on dispatch part and thank god they actually let me stay. This is along way from being on s Dollar tree dedicated run in Minnesota though that was supposed to pay $1250 a week.

Needless to say I got tired very quickly. The last load I did was picking up in North Carolina going to OH. This is the time I figured I’m done. Definitely after just having to set at a crap little truck stop without any real trucker service for a reset. I told the dispatch get me back I’m done.

I get back to Springfield OH drop the load I had and they send me another preplan idiots I’m not moving this truck from this spot. I tried knowing it wouldn’t work getting a bus ticket back home. Here’s a kicker they actually said they would buy it for me. Didn’t happen. In the morning while I was waiting to head to the bus station I went in to talk to HR basically telling them that they can’t lie and expect to keep drivers. Ones like me who have kids and a wife shouldn’t be mislead and straight out lied to. My wife and kids expected me home a month ago. Then told the lady call me back when the position I was hired to do is available. I’ll never go back and I’d advise anyone else thinking about working here not to.

The way most bigger companies are nowadays probably not much different P.A.M transport is just as bad that’s 2 I know of. I’m my experience working for a smaller company is much much better. I’m back to what I was doing before this mess making $800 bring home a week and I’m home every night that I want to be.

I had thought about working for us express but after reading all the reviews I think I will definitely stay where I'm at. I'm home every weekend and I usually bring home after everything is taken out between $850 and $1200 a week. I don't leave my house until Monday afternoon and I'm usually home either Friday night but never later than Saturday afternoon.

So. After reading all of these revieiand comments, I have my own piece to say. Regardless if this thread is dead or not. I'm Currently an team OTR company driver. I'm fresh the civilian side of things, since I went to the army fresh out of high school. I've never heard of vacation days? The way things were explained to me was 1 week driving = 1 day paid. That one day being 50$. They have constantly dropped the ball on home time. Granted yes I understand, I might be home a day late, but being 3 days late and having to remind them every day? That was ridiculous. They had promised me a sign on bonus just for being a new driver, and that sign on bonus has magically disappeared.

This had been my first real job since I've been out of the Army, and if I could, I'd sign back up in a heartbeat. This company constantly drops the ball, and when they realize a mistake they've made they cover it up. The past 3 weeks I've gotten paychecks of 350-390$ as a team OTR driver. Then only after explaining that the loads I was being assigned would not keep my family afloat, and that if it continued I'd quit did they actually issue a longer haul.

Now I understand that you'll sometimes get crappy loads, or that as a big company people forget. I've decided to drive with this company for at least a year and I'm 6 months in and having my doubts.

To be honest, you can do a lot better with other companies. You are really getting short changed by staying there and even more so driving as a team.

$350-$390 for teaming is utterly unacceptable. Move on if you're not taking home at least a grand.

    Net, not gross.

My husband and I work at USX as a team. The best and easiest way to make money at this company is getting on a dedicated account @Anarchychuckles

Each of us makes $1,900 a week and home 2 days a week.

Don't take bad advice from these people and start this game of job-hopping. You're new to the industry. Take the time to learn how the game works.

Usx Is a joke and always has been and always will be.... They make a art out of lying to drivers... And they have got to be without a single solitary shadow of a doubt the most Unorganized bunch of clowns that I've ever seen and believe me I be experienced at 1st hand I drove for them years ago and they still haven't changed a darn bit
