Drove thru the Basin today, you all can have it! Dusty, dirty and just nasty overall. Saw the immediate aftermath of an oilfield tanker go across median and hit a car head on in Midland on the 20. I'm always grateful to get thru the area unscathed. Most of the oil patch drivers operate their trucks like lunatics with little or no regard for the safety of others.

This is very true. Drivers passing each other on blind corners at 90mph because they have the most important load in the basin.

I told myself I didn’t want to be here for another boom, well I’m still here, counting the days until I can leave this place for good.

Save your money now people, you don’t want to be paying later with years of your life for financial mistakes made when you were younger.

Lots of pissjuggers out here. And just plain stupid. I am amazed at the amount of all the low hanging fruit in the oilfield.

They do drive crazy. Old equipment mostly back roads hustling for more loads. Plus all that testosterone running wild.

I just contacted a guy offering a 1099 driving job hauling sand in eastern Ohio. Pays 31% of gross, and says the loads gross from 400 to 900. That's a pretty wide range. I don't understand the disparity in rates, but he's hauling Sandbox and Arrows UP stuff, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Regardless, I can't imagine running 2-3 loads/day of the higher end of that rate range. That's a lot of money.
