Where is everyone #5

So apparently the gutless turd ain't so gutless. Running about 92,000 lbs gross, never dropped below 5-direct on any of the big hills. Kept up with what I'm used to with the C-13.

Granted, neither motor is designed for those weights on those grades, but I was expecting a lot worse than 0.5 mph average slower speed from Soo to Nipigon.

THAT SAID, the autoshift gave me a couple scares early on. It decided to take a few too many seconds to decide what the best gear was for the downhills, and I had to catch it with the brakes. Essentially shifting into neutral for 4-6 seconds on a 6 or 7% hill.

Brilliant technology this stuff. Anyways, I survived and have been told that I will be back in my truck next week. If not, I won't be driving this turd again.

But dam was it a nice driving morning.


It's this section of the 17 that I have no problems driving every time I come through here. I might look at investing in a GoPro at some point and record it. It's amazing.

 

3rd and last load for the day. Ain't been letting no grass grow under ole Monster. started at 8 am be at job and empty by 4 pm. 120 miles round trip. Then go home and celebrate 35 yrs being married to the same gal.

Well, I reckon this is the first time I ever saw a night club next door to a funeral home.

Saves on a trip to the morgue. The death certificate should read natural causes if you get shot in a Detroit nightclub.

 

I got rid of my bakery and stopped to pick up some kernels on the way back. They had both legs down and only 800 bushel in the overhead... Felt like I was running empty.

Empty at home but it's to hot to do much of anything....
