I think you're probably shook up because you witnessed the closing of an office first-hand. You read about these things all the time and it's meaningless unless you're there.
There's lots of reasons for this and a lot of them are just smart reasons. A trucking company only needs one training center. In this economy this kind of cutback is a no-brainer.
As far as Maverick and stock, well you know more than google does at the moment. I have a feeling that by tomorrow a google search of "maverick stock tmc" is going to come straight back to this thread.

The SC site is not going to be training anymore. This is the last week of training there. All training will be done in Iowa from now on. Also if you look at the hiring map they have closed off alot more states within the last week. As for my TC he has already lied to me once already and it was just the second time i had talked to him. Then he tried to play it off as my fault but I called him on it and needless to say he wasn't very happy about it. Like i said there are just some things that have already raised some red flags for me.

the more time passes the harder it is gonna be to get another job

TMC and Maverick have close ties, oweners are friends and have been told their is relations there. Des Moines is a better set-up for training, they have their own hotel at terminal. As far as TC lying to you, take it as training for dealing with your fleet manage. lol
wvwarlock Thanks this. -
I have something in the works with the Railroad. (always have a backup plan) And also some other things working. Like i said before i worked on Dock for 12+ years and i have seen worse than what i seen at the SC site. I just dont want to invest my time into something that may put me right back where i am now.

That is what i hear. -
TMC is a privately owned company, which means they do not have stock. I don't think it's possible for Maverick to buy stock in TMC although it's possible there was a private stake bought.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it.
#1 A lot fo companies have closed terminals and training facilities this past year. No biggy. It's called trimming the fat.
#2 Maverick admitted to losing $27 million in 2007. I don't see 2008 as a year they made it back, plus some. So as far as them buying interest in any company...highly doubtful. -
Thanks for the input guys. I believe i will go out with my trainer and see how things go. Again thanks for the input as it was much needed.
