How to rig a hammock in a sleeper

Team driving sucks in almost every way imaginable. My wife comes out with me,.. she does not drive. But being together in such close confined quarters for 6 - 8 weeks has tested our sanity more than a few times.

Best I can say.. and I know this is not what you want to here. Suck it up,.. and do the best that you can. Once you can move on,.. do so in a professional manner. One of the hardest things for a professional driver to do is to actually remain professional.

It gets better. Just bid your time and through experience you will find what you are looking for.

Good plan on the road will take off it

 

I like the idea for a hammock when its hot... But as far as team driving goes, I refuse. Never done it never will. There is only one person alive that I would trust to drive this rig in big city rush hour or winter blizzards while I slept in the berth... And Dad has no interest in going into trucking long haul, and I wouldn't ask either.

In happy with my 3500 to 4000 miles a week and $1500 a week pay as a solo driver.

 

I dont think good roads are gonna help when your codriver has a lapse of judgment while slamming back a red bull and ditch cruising at 70mph. Grass, road signs, water, little old ladies in wheelchairs flying over the hood as you and your hammock spin around like a 5th grader's jump rope, ending up making you look like something akin to a cocoon.

 

That is why you have a hammock. The old sailing warships used to hammock sailors at sea so whatever the ship does (Pitching plus or minus say 30 degrees and rolling upwards of 45 or sometimes staying rolled full and bye in storm conditions, those hammocks come in really handy. You really don't notice the motion hardly while asleep.

I used to carry one when I was much younger, find me under the trailer sometimes with certain things stabotaged on the tractor so no one will be moving the #### thing with me under there.

 

If we had engineers gyrostablized the bunks in those trucks at a slight weight penalty maybe the moving truck or storm sleeping will be better quality. But Im not sure the industry will accept such a thing.

Dunno about a hammock, but I thought if ever slept in a moving truck again to try a double mattress.

I always had 0 problem sleeping while the truck was moving, but when you're on some really bad patches, you get woke up.
