It clearly said no parking... I'm glad I don't go anywhere.

No, truck stops when there is no other alternative (which is rare). Been working for smaller companies with no terminal infrastructure, so it's all on me. I maintain self-sufficiency, stocked fridge and pantry, camp toilet, plenty of water, so I can park creatively. I also often drop the trailer and bobtail places like shopping centers and grocery stores. But my favorite places are out between cities and towns, so many nice places along the way to stop. Definitely had to move a few times when the late-night pounding started, but mostly had great success getting in to the corners away from the crowds. Probably going to get tougher as the years roll on, but I'll keep avoiding truck stops like the plague they are...

The best place to park is the no parking areas. Like on U.S. 30 in Princeton Indiana at the speedway. I even asked the clerks.

Sounds like you may be part of the problem. Trucks parked outside of truck stops or other businesses who might have dedicated areas for truck parking for customers are the ones creating bad impressions on those who actually live and work in the community in question.

Quite the opposite, I think. I park away from the heavily used 4-wheeler areas, usually around back, away from homes, in commercial districts, defunct businesses, and very often will ask permission and meet the people there. I never piss in the lot, and don't leave trash. I think it's good for people to observe clean, respectful truckers, don't you? Besides, there have been plenty of times I needed to park at a truck stop, and found exactly 0 legal places to park. Not like there's an abundance of actual truck parking. So I'm doing you all a favor by freeing up space...

Don't go a blamin the old drivers for the inexperience, stupidity, and lack of knowledge it takes to be a real trucker. This is why Loves, and Pilots have lost so many drivers who refuse to use them. It is not due to not being able to park, but those inexperienced drivers tearing up their trucks.

Part of the reason I want to drive western 11 is because I’ve heard about that Tacoma TS and I want to experience it in all its glory. Actually sounds like fun.

Nah, I’ve got in laws in Everett and Woodenville where I could park, and I’ve always want to take a leak in their driveway. lol

Now I'm not saying the CR England driver was innocent, on the contrary he was at fault, but they are like Swift drivers, most are piss-poor drivers. However I think these truck stops should police the idiot parkers. Make their dumb ##### move. Never a good excuse to park where you shouldn't. If you only have 30 minutes of clock left when you decide to park. Then you're just foolish. And truck stops do not owe you a parking space regardless of whether or not you'd be over hours. I say make people move, or have their ##### towed if they are impeding traffic. Because I do agree with one thing, the guy should have never been there to get hit in the first place.

Anyone know when that loves in Tacoma is going to re-open?

I also saw the p/FJ in Lebec looks like it’s getting close to being done.

I was by there several weeks ago and they are nowhere near beginning to see the end of the project. Still doing site work. Maybe mid or late summer at the earliest? But knowing the permits and inspection approvals process there, it may well go into 2020 before completion
