Thought I would update all of you on where Im at with this. The "Milk lady" as I call her never called me back. Yes I called her a few times myself. Anyway, I start a job this comming monday. 24 miles from the house, straight truck, delivering propane which I have done for the last 15 years. $18 per hour to start, good health bennies, terrible fringe, no sick or personal days and 1 week vaca per year for the first 5 years. My wife thinks this will get better, she thinks they just want to see if Im everything I say I am. I had to take, I've been unemployeed 5 months now. So the moneies good, lots of O/T. I'll let you all know how it's going in 2 to 3 weeks.

I say jump on it, and DONT leave when u get ur exp. Local jobs like this are hard to come by. I've been trucking for years, and have been here for 12 years local. Its been really slow here, i've been grossing 2000$ for 2 weeks. Now im only grossing 1300, MAN what a difference.

Be GREATFULL for a local job like this. Sounds great. :biggrin_25520:

You should take it. It's a job. It's experience. It's tanker experience. It's ALWAYS easier to get another job when you are currently employed. Believe it or not prospective employers want work history. Take it. BTW, do they have another opening? LOL Best of luck.

It would have been a good experience for you, if it had materialized.

Yep. And home every night to boot!

Not a bad "entry level" wage for a rookie. No it isn't wonderful, but it's a hell of a lot better than minimum wages.

Those road expenses are a bear. They keep going whether your wheels are turning, or you are sitting on your butt 2000 miles from home!

OK, too bad about the tanker job. BUT man, you ARE WORKING! And at a decent wage too. With your OT you should take home some decent paychecks! Your benefits sound like they are about average for a local delivery job.

Yup, I agree with everything you said. It would have been nice if it came together. But, yes Im back to work and yes at a good wage. So no complaints from me.
