Definitely going to give the ODFL another shot. I'm still kicking myself over wigging out on them a second time for a pay raise with the current milk hauler I'm with. From what I keep digging up, their runs, even extra board, seem straight-forward and not as draining.

It's pretty common to be offered/told "one day off per week out," so say you're out 4 weeks, expect 4 days off, etc. The tricky part is GETTING HOME for those 4 days. Like too much stuff, there is what is promised, and what you get.

Do it! Linehaul is easy money drive to a terminal drop and hook and your on the road again. Besides if you have to stay out LTL guys stay in hotels.bentstrider83 Thanks this.

I just got to kiss some rear end if I got back into some bad graces due to ducking the TM there. Shuttling trailers is nice. But I have this bad feeling they're trying to make me a loader again.
Nope. Bouncing out, stage left. -
Cheaper to stay out than divorce so in that sense money isn't so much of an issue. I have a yearly savings and investment amount preset that I have to meet once I've met my requirement I am apt to take more 34s and three days off than before.

OD is a really good company but there are other really good LTLs, our top pay goes up to .66 cpm starting July 1

Phew, most of these guys can probably get your job if they want it. I know I can, different strokes for different folks. Answer to OP, I stay out 6-8 weeks then take 10-14 days off, it’s like having 6 vacations a year. I also get 14 days vacation pay for now, so 1 vacation a year is paid time.

I could think of so many better situations than doing ltl.
