Yup, keep applying. Turnover is high, although LTL is the lowest at about 10%.

nolo contendere means roughly "I do not contest the charge"
    n. A plea made by the defendant in a criminal action that is substantially but not technically an admission of guilt and subjects the defendant to punishment but permits denial of the alleged facts in other proceedings.

Thanks for the replies guys. I may have to go food service until I can land another LTL position, but this time disclosing the moving violation on the application. Like I said, I didn't know that it was on my mvr because back in October before I started with coke, I pulled my mvr from the DMV and it said **No Driving History** which led me to believe it wasn't on there. I don't see how one moving violation could turn me down from a good position though, as I haven't had another since then and don't plan on getting another.

Apply at Saia our Atlanta facility is huge I know they need drivers down there and they do the dock to driver program as well. I did 5 years as a 7 up driver and went into linehaul at Saia, best decision I ever made.

That sounds like a plan! Would that one moving violation be ok? And also, Could you give me a little more information about the position? Like starting pay, schedule, benefits etc., if you are able to disclose that here. If not, you can shoot me a dm.

Not sure about the violations but I wouldn't think that would disqualify you. The pay scale is different in the south so I couldn't get you 100% accurate numbers and I don't work at the atl terminal so I can only give you general info. If you are applying for P&D the pay would start out some where between $20 - $21 an hour and should top out around $25 an hour I believe. P&D drivers work day shift start times range from 2 am - noon all depends on what's available to you as p&d have route bids for schedules. I know at my terminal most of the city guys work the dock before they go out on route not sure if that is the case in ATL. If you do work the dock you still get paid your driver pay and it's all forklift work, they will train you. The latest I have ever seen a city guy get off work at my terminal is around 9 pm. Benefits are good family medical is only $40 a week. 1 week vacation first year 2 weeks the second year. I would assume most city guys make in the 45k - 60k range you get to top pay in 18 months

I find even that claim suspect, aside from the fact that you praise the likes of your detestable outfit. There is entirely too much garbage freight in this business anymore.

Now, if you guys are smart enough not to haul the type of junk that any veteran of this job has learned to hate, in the name of giving credit where it’s due I’ll call that a feather in your hat.

    But seeing is believing.
