    The hell it doesn’t.

Any company with such a level of contempt for the ones who make them their money deserves to be starved out.

Few years ago Saia went on a frenzy firing drivers. They fired a lot of drivers. It was a company wide thing. Senior drivers with lots of time at Saia weren't safe. Lots of drivers with 10+ years in were canned.
I believe they have a pretty ruthless infraction policy too and use the cameras for disciplinary measures.

I would not work for a company that creates an atmosphere where you're fearing for your job everyday. I don't need that added stress in my life.
They can take their job offers and sign on bonus and stick it you know where.

It's almost like they are punishing drivers for having to pay a decent wage to stay competitive.
Like they don't want to pay decent wages but since they have to, they're gonna shove #### in your face while they do.

That's very interesting news, have you worked for Saia? I know a guy with 22 years in got fired a few months ago at a terminal because it was the 2nd time he was caught on camera using his phone while driving. Now I agree the cameras are intrusive and annoying but we all know they are there and we all know the rules. If you willing break the rules and get caught it's not the companies fault or the cameras fault that you get let go. You can bash a company all you want but it is the actions of the individual that causes the company to take action. By the way we had record profits last year due to our expansion and the company turned that profit into raises across the board .02 cpm for linehaul and $1.25 for city. No they are not unwilling to pay us and no they are not using the cameras to screw us. Bash away guys but I work for Saia and I know the truth, if you don't want to work for a company with cameras don't. But just having cameras does not make Saia a bad company

I hear ya Western Flyer, they prefer inexperienced drivers so they can be “molded properly”.

And don't forget to be young, because they won't hire older people, their way of expressing ageism is to say they want to build long-term relationships. Can't do that with someone who will die sooner.

    For argument's sake... @Florida Playboy

Curious, what's the difference between a camera pointed at you within arm's reach and one pointing down from a wall or ceiling? They both record. One records when triggered by a critical event, one is recording all the time on a loop. How is the one in a truck more intrusive? Because it's physically closer? Or because someone might briefly scan a random short clip?

And contrary to what some think, truck cameras aren't being monitored 24/7 by someone in a cubicle.

Having the camera closer to your face makes the recording more intrusive eh?
