Can you ask someone. How can you claim you are training someone if they can not see what they are doing. The only way you can see what you are doing is GOAL. This explains why I always see CR England drivers having a difficult time backing into places. Tell them to fix this or you will call the Hammer.

GOAL can only be used twice?
It should be a requirement for every backing move.AfterShock, SavageMuffin, CrappieJunkie and 1 other person Thank this. -
When I read things like this, it reaffirms that CRE is the number 1 worst mega carrier, hands down!
I have been driving for 18 years and have had my license for 36 years. If i need to GOAL, while backing into a spot, i will do it as many times that it takes for me to be comfortable I'm not going to hit anything. If it takes 5 minutes to back into a spot, I will not let the trucks that are waiting rattle me. If they are professionals, they know that's the correct way to do it.
IF you get hired elsewhere, it will be an upgrade, but 2 preventable with no experience may be hard to overcome.AfterShock, Pumpkin Oval Head, Rollr4872 and 6 others Thank this. -
There should be no backing accidents with a trainer doing their job....maybe companies should stop teaming the first day of training.
AfterShock, snowlauncher, StrokerTSi and 8 others Thank this. -

Get out and look. Always. When you are fixing to back into stuff you stop there then and now and HOP OUT WALK BACK there and look.
Even the walk about will wake you up a little bit, shake a little bit and focus on what you are doing.
I tell you why.
One night I made it to Fort Collins Meat Plant in Colorado NE after doing battle with storms. What storms... It was 8 PM Summer of 1998 sky was rumbling off to the east thank god. I dropped the trailer dead spot where the gaurd man wanted without really minding that landing gear too much. THUMP I was so tired. He hands me a form and points to wash bay over yonder.
One foot in front of the other right past that little steel ladder walk up to get to the wash bay's clerk window to order up a trailer wash. I see this shadow coming directly for me. There was a awful lot of chrome on that shadow. Oh it's one of my company's trailers coming awful fast into this dock I am RUN! I didnt run I dove. Where I ended up was a pool about a foot deep filled with green and other wastes from butchering. Trailer goes thump. I would have been cut in half.
THAT was a wake up call. Worth the rest of my life I should say. Yard jockey had snatched my own trailer and rammed it into the washbay dock without caring a whit that there was someone fixing to be cut in half. That's me.
From that night to this day for the rest of my trucking time, ANY time I know I am dead tired falling down asleep... I always always stop and think things through before doing something like backing. And always get out and look first.
I don't mean to rain on your parade. But if you are hitting trailers and stuff no wonder your trainer did not approve. I would not either. But I'll save a barrel for your trainer and ask did he kick you out to WALK BACK THERE AND LOOK? Or did you just roll her into reverse and start backing?
I am not your enemy or opponet. I don't know you from adam. But stop hitting that stuff with a 18 wheeler so much. That's one reason why so many NEWBIEs are eliminated from this industry in the first year. Stupid little preventable accidents that adds up to unnecessary spending of money to damages rather than profit and food on your table.88 Alpha and Trucking in Tennessee Thank this. -

Your trainer is an idiot.
He's making excuses for not being able to do his job.
If you already have your cdl, leave and find another company to drive for.
Where is your location? We may be able to help you find another company.AfterShock, Linte_Loco, Dino soar and 4 others Thank this.
