I can call TEC of California Volvo Stealership in Fontana, CA and get part numbers and prices all day long.

As far as the older Volvo's, the only good ones are 98-2003 VNL Pre-Emission, anything after that you're taking your chances on them, but that's pretty much any Post-Emission truck.

A have a few friends with 2012 Volvo 780's with Cummins ISX15 and they really haven't had many problems with them.

One friend has a 2006 780 with 1.9 million that had a inframe at 1.5 million.

Sometimes it's all about how the previous owner maintained the truck.

    Bakerman Thanks this.

Sorry, I should have been more specific with my criticism. My biggest complaint is the Volvo engines. I’ve heard good things about Volvo trucks with a Cummins engine.

The full service lease on new Volvo’s sounds very interesting.

I drove one for two years. Many electrical problems. Needed all the injectors replaced, tons and tons of issues. I only drove it two days a week too. I can only imagine if I ran it daily.

It left me stranded once when it derated to 5mph for no reason. I hated that truck so much I started hooking a 25 year old pos international up to my tanker instead. I’d run in 110 degree heat with that international with no ac before I took the newer Volvo and I did all the time.

Did those Volvo's have Volvo engines or the alternative Cummins, Caterpillar or Detroit? Why i ask is regardless whether its Freightliner, Peterbuilt or International the engines will break down and wear just the same as a Volvo..

If you are dead set on Volvo trucks get pre 2000 year truck. We're made with CAT, Detroit, Cummins, or Volvo D12 engine.
New trucks will be in the crusher by the time they are 20 years old I guarantee it.

Mine was a Volvo truck with a Volvo engine. The worst part about it is that everything with Volvo is top secret proprietary information, so if you need any major mechanical work or even part numbers for simple things like shocks you have to go to a Volvo dealer.
