We have a1994 9200 International with a Detroit 60 series engine that won’t start. Replaced sensors. Replaced fuel pump. Checked ECM. Batteries. Everything it seems.
Runs fine with ether but won’t catch by itself and stops as soon as we stop the ether.

    Any help would be appreciated

Pump pulling fuel? Sucking air from a bad line? Bad pick up in tank?

    Just tossing out ideas.

Fuel pump is sucking but can’t get fuel into line.
    Pick up is good.

Which line is not getting fuel? Are the filters full? Plugged filters? Any idea what the fuel pressure is going to the injectors while cranking? Just some ideas.

Fuel filters are full. Filters brand new. He hasn’t checked PSI pressure yet.

You may have a bad injector.

A friend of mine had a Freightliner Columbia Series 60, wouldn't start, changed CPS, checked everything.

It wound up being a dead injector caused it not to run.

First off, put that ether away before you #### that engine completely!

Now you say the pump is sucking but not getting any fuel into the line. What line? The pump inlet line or the pump outlet line?

    Oldironfan and Heavyd Thank this.

Rig up some kind of a pump to the inlet and pressure feed the engine if it runs fix the fuel pump and put away the ether

Pumped fuel into line. Primed everything. We’re thinking maybe ECM. Hope not but.....

Word of advice: Never point your finger at the ECM until you've tested it and all the wiring related to it. ECM's are something that get needlessly replaced wayyyyy to often.

IIRC the Series 60 has a fuel cooled ECM though so you may want to check that it isn't leaking fuel into the ECM itself.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.
