Is there anyone on the board currently working for Auto Truck Transport? Is it a good company to sign on with? Will they hire people right out of an accredited CDL school? How are the miles/pay? Do they only hire out of a specific area or nationwide? Thanks in advance!!

There are some other threads on this site about them. Look in first three forums.

Going to sign on with this company later this month. Will let you know what I find. All what I have heard from drivers and the recruiter and have read on bubba junk . com and layover.com is all good. In your search window type in "auto truck transport reviews" and you will be taken to a page where people have made comments on the company

I worked there years ago, for about six months. It was union at the time and then came the layoffs. Union and no seniority, guess who got the axe. Me and everyone I knew, who started at the same time as me. Got the call to come back, about six months later. Decided not to go back, as I had a decent gig by then. Overall my experience with the company was good. It's not a bad job at all, especially when you get seniority and get to pick from the top of the run board. Even with low seniority, if you hit the yard on the right day, you might get to pick from some good runs. Not sure about job skill requirements, as I've been in the industry a long time and qualify for most anything trucking related.

Auto Truck was one of the worst companies I have worked for in a long time.In orientation we were told about all the paperwork and thenBiggie or whatever his name is told us there is money here you just have to learn to scam.My first week check was great $975 so I was fooled. That was because we did shuttle for hourly pay.Since I did decks at Coldiron (another scam)I only did a few trips with a trainer to see what I knew.Good thing he didn't see the Schnieder trucks roll into each other when I forgot to bloch one set.The schnieder trucks took two days to check in and I thought that I would get a decent amount of delay pay NOT!My first three trips were 500 to 800 mile trips run back to back as fast as I could run them leagally.I had direct deposit and didn't pay attention to what I got for the first 3 weeks. When I checked my pay I got $136 for my first week on the road and$201 for my second and that was with no advance! Most loads out of Mt Holly go to the Northeast 500 to 800 miles which doesn't pay well at all.$3 to 4 hundred. The miles themselves can be run quick it is at the dealer which eats the time. Most dealers receive between8 and 5 the undec thakes anywhere from 3 to 6hrs depending on what is rigged and how long one must wait for a wrecker.Count atleast a day to undec if you get multiple stops it is about a day per stop, travel time and waiting on wrecker. All this for the $.51/mile.and there is dealer delay, shuttle pay and wrecker delay that you have to jump thru hoops to get.The mgmt. always has some sort of excuse not to pay. Then once all the deliveries are made you fly back to a terminal for another load,This is another day with no pay.At the terminal if you arrive for dispatch at8am don't expect to leave for 5to7 hrs all unpaid but leagaly on duty time. The drivers there that seemed to make out are the ones who fuged the logs. This was a union shop but you wouldn't know it from the way it was run.The shop steward at Mt Holly "Rhette" was the most useless company ####### I have knownI had some disputes and this jerk sided with the company telling me I was lucky to have a job.

Broke it up for you - too difficult to read otherwise. One of two unknown threads about my final employer that I was unaware of.

Layover and Bubbajunk are recruiting sites - saw no search function at either site where one could type in the company name. Indeed and the Looking Glass websites were far more interesting. Unfortunately, one must sign up for both sites and your 'review' has to be submitted for 'political correctness' faux pas errors. Here at TR, Auto Truck started a recruitment thread - now having slid back to page 14 of Best Trucking Companies due to it being shot down almost immediately, and for good reason.

As a rule, truck haul threads get shot down pretty quickly, as any neutral party(?) involved in truck haul understands why. Like many industries, 'diversity and inclusion' transformed truck haul into something that is comical at best, if you could even bring yourself to laugh.
