I should also mention that there are minor adjustments that can be made that affect your steers and allow for sharper cuts. I will stress that it's minor, but.. coupled with the bigger gap that change becomes major. I'll never understand why Milllis uses fixed fifth wheels. Shortening the gap doesn't necessarily mean better mileage. I regularly get 9.5 to 10 mpg with my wider gap, and I'm never in danger of bending a cab extender. And I can thread a bent needle with this setup. There goes half of the bi-weekly accident reports. Just sayin.olddogdon Thanks this.

I get 7mpg..lol

Good luck. Thats what hes there for!
As for me, just got home to start my vacation. Asked to be home tomorrow by 5pm, and like usual Opie got me home a full 24hrs early. Be home till July 2nd. My next student will be meeting me at my house on July 1. Been a long month of June, I actually had to do all the driving by myself lolSteelersjunkie and olddogdon Thank this. -
You can always come back! You know you miss these automatics and the endless supply of bananas in Trenton.Steelersjunkie Thanks this.

Actually, I have an auto. Same truck that I had before, but a year newer. And a few extras.olddogdon Thanks this.

If I'm in the mountains and I'm real heavy, I'll be at 7. My rear end ratio isn't ideal for heavy loads. I'd definitely like it to be higher. But dam I love the top end and the mileage in the Midwest.Last edited: Jun 22, 2018

Hell, I feel like I HAVE come back. Been spending a lot of time in Millis territory. Been in Wisconsin for the last two days, and tomorrow will make three. Got to go to the UP for the first time in my life yesterday. Good lord that place is breath taking.Last edited: Jun 23, 2018

I was stationed on Marquette in the UP years ago. I agree, the scenery is breath taking for sure.
