For the record, the old Chinese lady at the north 40 is legit...I would have her spend a whole half hour on my neck and shoulders...

Sharp looking truck. I personally wouldn’t have a loose boulder on my catwalk like that, but that’s just me, LOL.

Parts look better installed. One small project down, so many more to go. Neglected the poor thing, and before it belonged to me it was a hard working farm truck. (Figured out who the original owner was, and also that it put on 30k miles a year pulling a livestock trailer around California).

Taking a breather from cleaning up the garage. Love that quality parts install so easily with no fuss. Tomorrow morning when there's not much traffic out I'm going to go break 'em in.

Looking at the radius on the edge of the square tube, it appears to be thin wall tubing, 1/8" perhaps? If it is thin wall tubing, a gusset will help where it's broken now, but you will lose support where it ends. In other words, you moved the cracking point further out.

Just a suggestion, I would weld a vertical 1/4" x 1" (or up to 1 1/2") piece of flat bar to the underside of the tube as a stiffener. Depending on the length, an 1 1/2" weld on both sides on a 4" center should be adequate, or the size and spacing can be adjusted accordingly. Too much weld will cause it to bend.
45* cut the ends for cosmetic reasons and to eliminate a sharp corner.
