Put my truck in the shop AGAIN for the same codes that keep popping up. It started derating on me yesterday because it needs a parked regen, but won't do one because of the codes. Wish thes grease monkeys we have would stop just clearing codes and actually fix what's wrong. This is the 6th time for the one code. It has something to do with the EGR system. Most likely (according to Volvo & an actual ASE Certified mechanic I trust) the DPF filter needs a burning. But our shop says no and clears the code. I don't know what the 2nd code is. I've seen it before, but can't remember. Doesn't really matter, all they'll do is clear them, force it to regen, say it's fixed, and 50 miles down the road, they'll pop back up. At least I was headed for home time. Didn't get to deliver my Elkridge load, so lost about 250 miles though. Rather do that than not get home on time (which is a total necessity because of Dr appts).

Try putting it into a shop on the road?
My experience with that, the shop on the road was much better at arguing "We can't put this truck on the road until it's legal, and it won't be legal until it's fixed" than I am.Silverdriver, Lonesome and RebelChick Thank this. -
I was talking to my wife today and said to her that I like Abilene in many ways compare to other company's that I drove years ago; but I do have to say that when I was with "Knight Transportation" the minute your truck was entering one of there terminals it was inspected! (Truck and trailer) and if you reported a problem with your truck it was put into the shop to be fix and fix properly. There was none of this patching and go! and having the truck broken down again with the same problem after one month!RebelChick, Lonesome, JohnBoy and 1 other person Thank this.

I was told by Joe that they are going to be doing that in the not to distant future. BUT to do it properly, you need mechanics, not just oil changers. IMO, the leadership of the shop needs to be completely changed because the same leadership means the same way of running things and, as we all know and have said, we'd rather break down on the road than to be in our shop when it should be the other way around.Silverdriver and runningman0661 Thank this.

They hope that the codes will clear up,i have an engine code and aftertreatment code that come and go,i am in the same volvo i started here it has 680k now,its a good truck. If they do this to me only once, the next time the truck is going to a dealership.
Silverdriver Thanks this. -
Apparently they are not even oil changers now. We are supposed to go to Loves for that.
