Just got a ecm printout.
5.67mpg on all miles.
5.1mpg with idle time. I idle alot.
Pulling a 53 van, all over except CA, OR, and the Northeast. I try to stay lighter than 30k. i will say this truck hates barometric pressure changes. When I'm in the NW or deep TX/FL the mpg is horrible. Even Kenworth knows about the issue.
Build quality?
Cabinets dont stay shut.
Latches dont stay secured.
Drawers get stuck.
Door seal trim keeps coming off as well as door handle trim.
Upper bunk AC vent has no air coming out.
Intermittent electrical issue with the dash.
Had to replace the 7pin, because the catwalk was rubbing the cord through.
Fuel tanks aren't aligned, had to spin one a good 2 inches to clear the nozzles properly.
Center cup holder doesn't stay attached.
That's just build. Even more design flaws.
Any large cup in the cup holders hits the dash and squeaks.
Horrible stereo setup (who uses 4x6s?)
Nothing fits in the overhead bins, or even stays there over bumps.
At highway speed the windshield washer sprayers dont even spray more than halfway up.
So many rattles, creaks when idling.
I keep hearing from other w9 owners that the quality has declined in the last 7 years or so. I bout the truck for the extra 9" of sleeper space and the sleeper sofa. My next truck will either be a new Volvo or a full custom sleeper.autopaint, KB3MMX, Dave_in_AZ and 3 others Thank this. -

I have the performance once @70mph my rpm is at 1450 , at 68 mph like 1400 and 65 mph it's like 1350 rpm but I drive at 70mph dont lug these motors shift around 1700 rpm some guy told me he gets great mph at 1650 rpm idk I havent tried to run just at that rpm I was told that's why isx was having liner issues for lugging the engine, these trucks have dpf it's better not to lug the engine keeps the filters hot so they dont clog and engine pushes the smoke faster also try to invest in a apu that's my next step if you want your truck to last a long time. Also the fuel pumps are isolated now if it would tend to fail it wont blow your engine anymore its recommended to change them every 150k to 200k miles for just in caseDave_in_AZ and ReeferOhio Thank this. -

Not sure exactly but like I was told they're isolated that if it would to blow the metal shavings have no way to enter the engine regardless to be on safe side every 200k miles just change it cause if it would blow on the road you know it gets expensive to fix with the tow bill lol but besides that I've heard this engine has had great results vs the isx I know I only have 10k miles on it but love it so far very powerful engine and good fuel mileageKB3MMX, Dave_in_AZ and Hegemeister Thank this. -
