I keep seeing Stevens' advert on CL San Antonio. They're as bad as Dick Simon was back in the day in the Salt Lake Tribune. A #### ad in the papers / on the net, day in and day out. You don't want anything to do with a company like that. You don't want to ever replace a quitter in a place with high turnover in this business. It means the company sucks.

You should have asked the hometime question before you ever went with Stevens. How could you go through that whole program and not know this? I always suggest to keep to yourself, but asking other drivers how often they get home is just basic business talk.

If you don't have the money they will just have to wait on it ...right? Get a job somewhere and pay it back when possible. The less you talk to others and future companies about Stevens-the better. Like most mega-carriers, Stevens has about a 120% yearly turnover-that should tell you something. Some of these 'cdl training-work until you payback' companies are not worth getting involved with in the first place, even to obtain a cdl. My suggestion is to state your experience with a small, small company and get on with one-stay away from mega carriers. You are a statistical number with megas, where thousands and thousands of numbers already came before you, and thousands and thousands of numbers will follow you.

    Good luck with that.
Some of these small companies require a certain amount of experience nowadays and won’t hire new drivers with a fresh CDL.And even then half of the small companies are here on the bad company forum. So most drivers don’t have much of a choice but to go to a mega in order to get said experience under their belt.

Just because a company is smaller doesn’t necessarily mean it’s better.
