Another week in the rear view. Thought for sure I would be working tomorrow, still have almost 13 hours left on my 70, but when the next load info came thru this afternoon it was all for Monday deliveries.
Most of what I did this week was drop and hook. I didn't know we did any of that but apparently we have a couple customers that we deliver product to, they unload it, then we come back later to grab the empty trailer and leave another loaded one to repeat the process. Had a few loads I actually had to unload this week but most of it was a drop and hook in the morning followed by an easy unload then back to the first place for another drop and hook in the afternoon.
Next week I will be switching to weekday off time, not weekend, so we'll see how that affects everything. I don't know for sure just how steady the Sat/Sun work load is but having weekend day(s) off right now doesn't help the family situation so I have to give it a try and see.
Settlement statement for last week's work came out today. For the week of 6/10 to 6/16 I did 14 loads, 614 total miles for those loads, and grossed $1440. Used 67 hours of my 70 fir $21.59/hour.

I was loading. Last week dispatch decided to have me load some trailers. since I got kicked out of the nest and on my own a month ago all I've been doing has been pre-loaded stuff, so to say I'm slow as hell would be an understatement. Plus the way it fell I was getting back without much time left on my 14 then loading the trailer for my 1st delivery the next day. I didn't have to, I could have come in earlier the next day and loaded it but figured I should probably get it over with in case something went totally wrong so dispatch would have more notice of the screw up.
It was just a cluster from end to end is all. Screen kept plugging up on the flour loads, needed an extra adapter I didn't have for one of the railcars. Pretty much anything that could slow me down did, including me sticking to myself with a couple boneheaded moves. -
Last week's settlement statements came out yesterday. Did a lot of drop and hook work last week with some starch unloads in between.
For the week of 6/17/18 to 6/23/18 I had 12 loads. 978 miles for those loads, and grossed $1,461. Used just over 57 hours of my 70 which comes out to $25.63/hour.
Not sure what next week's settlement will look like or the ones coming after for a bit (this weeks hours hours worked) since I was off last weekend (Sunday starts our work week) and also took a reset during the week to get my schedule changed around to something that works for me. Friday is now my Monday when it comes to the work schedule. We'll see what the weekend work load turns out to be and how steady it is. I have a feeling I may be on a 6 day work week now as opposed to burning out my 70 in 5 days and getting 2 off.
@Steelersjunkie This week we are going down South to the place with your favorite slip ramps in the country!!
