    I hear ya.

As ILuvCats always put it “I may have a higher tolerance for this company than others...”

    Pretty much where I’m at.

I’ve had an easy past year with the older camera. Gyro, hard brake, that’s it... this new one is built into the automated braking and is timed to go off a certain distance behind following traffic. What it doesn’t give you much leeway for is changes in speed ahead of you.

Follow at 200 feet, see a situation in front of you, safely brake and you’re at 150 feet. Guess what? You’re deemed too close and now you’re considered an unsafe driver to Tulsa...

It’s crazy. I’ve had it easy. Now I need to learn how to drive all over again it seems. Anticipate the unexpected. Always have... but now it ridiculously affects my bonus pay...

I’m outta here this year me thinks.

I waved off one of my final orientation buddies when I was in Tulsa. Leaving for a local gig out in Colorado. So it’s just me and one other guy from a graduation class of nine. Says a lot...

    I hear ya.

I caught myself scooting a bit much through a town earlier

You don’t realize how much you use the transmission to tell ya how fast you’re going. Would always mentally count the gears.

Now... just put it in D and go, holder.

@stwik Turnover rates in trucking is insane. Not sure how a company like Jade Transport holds onto drivers, but I think my bosses need to take some notes (and the owners are good friends too). They have tons of drivers over the 5-10 year mark, and several at 20+.

I think we've got a few over 10? A couple retired last year. I've got it good where I'm at, but if things go south because of this tariff war between Trump and Trudeau, and steel crashes, I wouldn't be opposed to finding work elsewhere. But being so flexible in what I do compared to most of our drivers, I'm sure they'll be able to find work for me.

We have probably 100 out of 1400 over the ten year range. And then 25 of the 100 over 20 years...give or take. Rough numbers here :p

I know all too well how awful our turnover rate is. That’s what happens when you hire anyone with a pulse, promise them the world, and essentially become the Mega of flatbed.

We’re a training babysitter company. Guys see that .43/cent mile when their sitting in the truck stop and think it’s a cake walk. So naturally we go through drivers like the buffet line goes through fried chicken.

Don't know the exact number but, I would guess it's hovering at 15,000 lbs. My Rig light weights at 33,900 with full tanks... 2 x 120.

Camped out in a wide spot on the north side of the Denver airport til morning. It was 106 degrees when I rolled past the chicken coop at Ft Collins. It's a bit cooler out here at 91.
