We bought a freightliner fl80 with a Cummins engine. It's aprox 20 years old and it runs on gas. Lately we've had trouble with it running. It stalls, and when it runs it seems to ' misfire' or something on occasions. It seems to have a mind of its own. Does anyone know what could be the problem or where in Melbourne I could get some advice?! As soon as I say that it runs on gas, no one can help me! Does anyone have any clues? Much appreciated.

I never heard of a Cummins gasoline engine.
I'd recommend that you find a manual for it somewhere and do all the things that gasoline engines require like spark plugs wires distributor cap if it has one.
If it is an OBD2 engine then you should be able to buy a tester to put into the diagnostic port and it should give you codes, that's probably a good place to start.
But at least here the states, I've never heard of a Cummins gasoline engine. -
Gasoline or Natural Gas?
What motor? -
It is a natural gas engine. The best place to get it fix is the dealer.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
You can get shop manuals for the engine model. I worked on CNG Cummings motors here and they are not hard to fix. We had lots of problems with plugs going bad and coil packs failing.
