Werner emailed me a pre approved position at the Walmart DC in Macclenny, FL, out of curiosity I called them up, i live just south of there and they said id be home daily but would have to slip seat. $50k a year. Trainer required but was told I would have to train OTR? Doesn't make sense but oh well. Has anyone ran this account, or have any information? Idk if it would be worth it to go.Thanks

From what I know: and I don’t work for Werner....they train you with an OTR trainer(I’m pretty sure they don’t have daycab trainers) then; after you get thru your training on the road; you will go to that Walmart location and run daily daycab loads: If you do this make sure your trainer doesn’t just have you hold the steering wheel while going down the highway in the middle of the night::: you will need a lot of tight turn experience and docking experience to feel comfortable going into Walmart stores everyday...

Doubt it. Werner is short over 100 drivers across their DCs according to in house rumor. They are struggling for drivers in Olney.

No idea on Werners pay, but you will be running overnight meat and produce loads most likely to various Walmarts and Sam's across North Florida and SE Ga.

Not a bad job, just have to move bulk heads out of the way as store personnel unload their pallets. You will have to collect stickers off each pallet. But those are the only labor you will have.

Like most things your attitude will dictate how most stores interact with you. However you will get a cranky CAP2 or Support Manager every once in a while.

I would guess the OTR training is because of the tight schedules on dedicated loads. But @laaylor is correct practice tight turns and backing. You will see plenty hauling Walmart.

There are a lot better ways to run Walmart dedicated then werner. I drove werner for 2 months , at least 1 month to long. There are a lot of reasons why werner is terrible but the worst for me was the engine idle shutdown systems they use. Your trying to sleep and the truck is starting and stopping itself for the full 10 hour break. It doesn't wake you up it violently shakes you awake !!!! Don't werner if your smart .

That might be because Olney is in the middle of freakin nowhere. It's a nice little town just a long way from anywhere.

Hour and half from St Louis. But so many local jobs there no one wants to drive it.

I would be home daily. So the idle is not an issue for me
