Standard typical PJ fresh truck stop with additional features and no additional charges, dont even need to swipe a rewards card. Back up to the train track and depending what time you are in the sleeper the train will come every 30 min. Lovely. As if the train isn't enough someone keeps blowing that whistle while crusing past the truck stop. I can imagine these guys are at a train depot somewhere having a conversation about coming through Stratford Texas. Not actually a rant, just a bad choice for a 10hr break.

That's why I blow my horn incessantly at the lead engines when they pass in front of me at RR crossings. Two can play that game. I'll show them.
austinmike, wore out, dunchues and 3 others Thank this. -
I tried buying tire chains at that Pilot last winter. Nobody had a clue there was a locked cage outside full of them... then their heads blew up when I asked for super single size.

Kingman isn't bad. The TA in Gallup, NM is one of the worst there is for train horn.
I think they do it on purpose. It's a nice truck stop, but if you want to get any rest, forget it.
I mean them dudes really lay on that horn going by. Makes no sense either, cause there's no road crossing or anything, and they are moving at 50 plus.
Just being jag offs.driverdriver Thanks this. -
Going south on 287 through Amarillo after making it through all the lights they have the east side ramp closed. It has been like this for a long time. Of course the detour is the next exit and just do a u turn on Washington then back on 40. Is this the only way to stay south on 287?Not much of a problem actually. I just didnt like squeezing through the u turn lane or waiting for the lights.

The Loves in Clovis, NM is the worst I've been to for havin a lot of train horns. A lot of trains run through there.
Slowmover1 Thanks this. -
Yes, I remember late one night backing into a spot in the back. It was real dark so I lined up with the truck next to me after checking everything. I eventually got in the sleeper and started to fall asleep. Suddenly a train went by and scared the crap out of me. I think it was a Loves and a Pilot right next to each other.

When we were waiting to be licensed to drive we were being housed in Weatherford TX and i distinctly remember the freight train blowing his horn like every 5 seconds not sure if its a Texas thing or a Train drivers thing one thing for sure is they want everyone to hear there coming.Lab work Thanks this.

Driving during the evening I was being annoyed by head lights on the right side of the road coming toward me. I flashed my bright lights hoping someone would get the hint. Who ever was in that train taut me a valuable lesson.
