kinda depends on the cancer.

skin cancer treatments, when caught in time like my dad had, one can go about his/her business.

prostate cancer that some guys get, one should NOT be driving a big rig.

all other cancers, actually depend on what type, and current treatments, as many times strong drugs are prescribed.

i personally have not had any such cancers, but man, i do know (and did know) those that did.

survival and cure rates are highly dependant on one's ability to FOLLOW dr's orders.

 

Sorry to hear. But i don’t see how it can possibly be your fault or what the hpv virus has to do with it. Don’t eat yourself up. Cancer always seems to target the people who are least deserving and when we least expect it. It sucks.

Most important thing is don’t waste any time with treatments. Listen to the doctors and do what you gotta do.

Get treatment asap. Try to divert the depression for both of you so that does not make it worse. May the best be with both of you.
