As an example this Mack belonging to Muswellbrook Cranes is 200 tonne rated, it has a triple counter shaft 18 speed Mack box followed by a 4 speed spicer joey box, hub reduction diffs and has a C16 engine. I serviced this truck last week, it has 3500 hours on it and has never had an exhaust temp problem.

That HURTS,with the heat you have over there you would think it would be running hot.
It can be 2*C outside here and still run high EGTs,Its like banging ya head against a brick wall.

Thats definately a tough one... you need to find someone who really knows their sh#t to work out why it does what it does. If it wont round up 620s in its current form it doesn't sound like its getting too much fuel. most properly tuned 600s I know of leave 620 sigs for dead in the hills.
The star set up is much better than an Argosy, good air filters (kinda), big aftercooler and good exhaust design.
When the aftercooler was checked did they check the rest of the intake system for leaks? The air compressor inlet elbow can be a big leak if the gasket is blown out.

I haven't checked the inlet elbow,Its had a 2 rebuilds now and the only thing thats never been changed is the ECM I am hoping thats where the problem lies.
No one over here will touch the ECM but CAT I will get it right though Thanks for the help.

I put the new pyro in and its still hot, starting to doubt what the tech saw when we ran it up again to check the truck gauge.

In my western star I had my stock gauge and the electric gauge on my pittsburg and they both pretty well showed even

I thought the pitts gauge goes in the exhaust manifold and the factory one is after the turbo?

    Donk Thanks this.
